This is a reversible table runner for my mom. She picked out the fabrics that she wanted, and also wanted me to do a scalloped binding. I had never done that before, but it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was going to be. I think it turned out okay for my first time…
I’ve started making bags recently, and hate those reusable grocery bags that you can buy that are so flimsy they are really disposable. These bags are heavy duty, with liners, and can be folded to conserve space. These are some of the ones I have recently made. My favorite is the sewing bag for my MANY trips to the fabric store!
This is a quilt I recently made for my brother, who is a Tech Alumni. Hopefully he doesn’t look at this blog ;). It’s a little bit difficult to see in the photos, but I used red and silver thread to quilt the double T logo on alternating squares. The other squares are filled in with the TT gun. The border detail is random quilting in red.
I tried my hand at another table runner with a patriotic theme and matching placemats. These can be purchased online at my Etsy store (Kustom Kwilts). The set is fully reversible, and the back of the table runner matches the back of the placemats. It’s difficult to see the quilting, but there are 2 large stars and 3 small stars on each placemat. The table runner is quilted with stars as well.
This is a quilt pattern I found online that I just love! It is designed for a baby, but I’m tempted to keep it for myself ;). It was a joy to make and the colors are very playful and fun.
This is the newest bag that I designed for my sister-in-law, Kim. I really like the quilted bags that are sold commercially, and hope to make some more that are equally as good as those!
It has one pocket on the outside, a large pocket on the inside, and various sized pockets on a strip on the other side of the inside.
Tote #2 is much improved. I added snaps to the sides to make the bag smaller when you don’t need to carry everything but the kitchen sink. I also added pockets to the inside and another pocket to the outside of the bag.
I just completed my first bag! This is a really cute little tote that has 6 pockets (3 on each side) that is perfect for carrying all of your odds and ends. Finished bag is 8″x10″x4″. My next project is making a similar bag but larger.
