Baby’s first birthday quilt

My cousin Holly recently requested a quilt for her niece, who will be celebrating her first birthday in just a few days.  I updated my labels (that I do myself) and was pretty pleased with the result.  I also took my first shot at applique…it still needs some work, but hopefully practice makes perfect!

Simple patch baby quilt

This is a baby shower gift I am working on right now.  The parents are waiting until the baby’s birthday to discover the gender, so they had chosen bedding from Crate and Barrel’s The Land of Nod.  It is bedding with dark grays and yellows, so the quilt colors reflect that.

John Deere Baby Quilt

I just finished this quilt yesterday.  It is a John Deere themed baby quilt for a friend who is due in a couple of months.

Personalized label and quilt care tips card

This is right after the first wash and dry of the quilt.
Sometimes it will come out a little bunchy, but if you
iron it once, it straightens out well.  Some people
prefer this look to the crisp appearance.

Ready for delivery!

Irish Chain quilt

This is a quilt I made for my sister-in-law while she was expecting.  It is the single Irish Chain design, full size quilt.  I had originally picked the colors for a baby quilt, prior to knowing their nursery would be nautical themed, so I altered the design and some of the fabrics for an adult.

T-shirt quilt (Sam Houston State University, FFA, Houston Rockets themes)

This is a t-shirt quilt I made for a friend’s husband.  He is a Sam Houston State Alumni, Previously taught for the FFA chapter, and a Houston Rockets fan, so the shirts are a little random, but that was what he wanted.  This is throw sized (probably in between full and queen).

Wedding gift

This is one of the last quilts I finished for a very close friend for her wedding gift.  It is the log cabin design, called “Barn Raising” and can be arranged in a variety of ways to make different designs.
